SIPHON BREAKER VALVES | HX-DP Pressure Balanced
Siphon breaker valves are installed at the top of pipe humps. They can break the vacuum and cut off the flow in no time when necessary or as soon as the system is out of order. Such valves safeguard the working units, keeping the flow from back running and prevent the pumps from back running which may easily cause the impellers to fly away.
The HX-DP SIPHON BREAKER VALVE is structurally divided into five parts: water cavity, air cavity, main and sub electromagnetic control units and electric control unit. The water cavity bounds with the matching water pipes; the air cavity opens to the air; the main and sub electromagnetic parts are connected by the left and right sides of the valve, and the electric control box is installed nearby on request.
When the electric module is electrified, the main axle moves leftwards under the suction power generated by both the main and sub electromagnetic units. Meanwhile, sealing rings of two discs mounted on the axle will be dragged towards the seats resulting in a sealing function. In this means, the water and air cavities are separated, which has the pipes underneath reach the siphon state.
When the electric module is off power, the main axle, together with its discs, moves rightwards under the thrust power caused by the energy-stored springs when the electromagnets are parted. The discs and the seats are thus separated in no time. Hence, the air is pouring into the water cavity via the air room due to the great pressure differences between the atmosphere and the vacuum space inside. Siphon state is broken and the flow is, hereafter, stopped.
For pipelines of large scales, two siphon breakers either of the same size or not, subject to the flow speed, fall and the required switch speed for the valves, are recommended to be apllied on each siphon pipe so that your system can be stablized and perform even better with double securities. In normal cases, the siphon breaker is recommended to be of one-fourth the pipe's diameter. For instance, two DN 300 siphon breaker valves are to be fitted to a DN 1800 pipe (for reference only).
